This wonderful event was held on Friday, 13th June. Over 250 people were there and the guests of honour where the 100 chilren. There were circus clowns on hand entertaining the children with face-painting, games and balloon modelling. It was a fantastic day for the Sims staff to have chance to meet up again with the families that they have worked with so closely.

More than 1,000 babies have been born as a result of treatment at Sims Clinic, and Dr Tony Walsh, who founded the clinic said: "We warmly welcome the families with babies conceived at Sims and who have helped us to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It is truly a humbling experience for all the team to see these beautiful babies"

The Sims Clinic has come a long way since its foundation by Dr Tony Walsh 10 years ago. Dr Walsh was joined by Dr David Walsh at Dublin City University. They started as a campus company at the university working closely with the National Cell and Tissue Culture Centre. After rapid growth the clinic moved to their own premises at Grosvenor Road in Rathgar and at that stage the team consisted of two doctors, a nurse and an embryologist performing 57 cases in their first year. Rapid expansion continued and in 2007 Sims moved into a new fertility unit in Dundrum, Dublin.

The Sims Clinic has introduced many new treatment regimes over the last decade such as embryo transfer at blastocyst stage which resulted in higher pregnancy rates and the introduction of Ireland’s first egg donation programme. Sims offers a comprehensive range of fertility treatments and does so in an environment of genuine care, warmth and support for couples attending the clinic.

In 2008 the clinic has expanded to become Ireland’s largest fertility unit with a staff of 34 employees, treating 1,000 cases annually. The first decade has been dedicated to developing the clinic to a centre of excellence in patient care. The next decade will see a continuance of this with the addition of a research programme aimed at placing Sims Clinic to the academic forefront of reproductive medicine, not only in Ireland, but internationally. Professor E Scott Sills has joined the medical team to lead the research programme.
